Euphoria, tension as students win laptop, other gifts at Spelling Master Season 2

THE EUPHORIA was great among participating students at the Spelling Master Season 2 that held Saturday in Osun State as the winners carted away laptop, tablets, phones and cash gifts.

The Chairman of the occasion, Honourable Adelani Baderinwa, a former Commissioner of Information and Strategy in Osun State praised the efforts of Life Intelligent Quotient Pathfinder Limited, the sponsor of the annual event and stated that “if other individuals, companies and organisations are doing what you are doing for these students, we will not be having the type of results the state is recording in the educational sector.

“I commend you and ask you that no matter the challenges, please keep it up. This will impact heavily in the lives of these young ones.

“To the students, do you remember the student that won the international Mathematics competition? She is from this state. If she can do it, you can also do it”.

The Chief Executive Officer of Life Intelligent Quotient Pathfinder Limited, Olanrewaju Akinfenwa in his welcome address asked the participants to see themselves as winners.

“We have every reason to be grateful as the Competition is improving yearly.

“We are also delighted to have our last year’s Winner, Erioluwa Akinwumi competing again this year. Like you all know, in our competition, everyone is a winner! The aim is to encourage you to be courageous and to believe in yourself that there is nothing that you cannot achieve, only if you set your mind on it.

“This year, we have more schools and I believe that with the calibre of students here, we are in for a good show. Our participants are always great, and this year would not be different”.

The atmosphere at the competition was charged as the students succumbed to emotion and high tension during the competition that was really competitive.

There were two categories, the primary and secondary sections.

In the primary section, Master Muiz Adebisi Yakub of Kranion School, Ifon Osun took the first position and went home with Tablet for kids. The second position went to Miss Aishat Olamiposi Oyedeji of People’s Love, Ifon Osun who went home with educational toys and Ibrahim Ayodeji Olonade of Flourishing Schools, Ofatedo, went home with N10, 000 cash as the second runner up.

In the secondary school category, it was a serious contest between the five finalists till it remained two contestants. Miss Zainab Olaitan Abdulwasiu of Famous Prince, Okinni defeated Nafiu Olatunji Abdurrasheed of Al-Azeez Prudent Academy to the second position. The second runner up is Isiaka Muhammed of Flourishing Schools, Ofatedo. The winner went home with an HP Laptop while the first runner up went away with a tablet and the second runner up went home with a smart phone.
