Kwara South Youths Raise Alarm Over Insecurity

KWARA SOUTH YOUTH Development Organization, (KWAYORG), has raised alarm over constant security breaches in the senatorial zone, describing the incessant siege of kidnappings, banditry and killings across its communities as unacceptable.
President of the group, Mr Abolarin Sarafadeen made the revelation in Ilorin, Kwara State, calling on the State and Federal governments to put workable measures in place to guarantee the safety of its citizens.
He lamented that “the unpalatable trend had destabilised the socio economic fabrics of our communities, destroyed the very essence of human existence, as farmers no longer go to farms, traders are abducted unchallenged, while families live under constant threat of violence” stressing that, ” these heinous acts are clear violation of human rights and a deliberate attempt to mortgage the development of Kwara South
“We implore the State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to scale up collaboration with security agencies, community leaders and vigilante groups to ward off unbridled attacks on our communities” urging the Governor ” to order local governments to deploy security patrol vans and motorcycles to curb the anomalies”.
The front line youth group advised the Federal Government to deploy military check points in the vulnerable local governments; Isin, Ekiti,Oke Ero, Irepodun and Ifelodun.
KWAYORG, as parts of it’s response to the seeming emergency situation plans a security summit to work out sustainable road maps in the senatorial zone having the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi as he Chief Host.
