CP visits Ibokun command, recounts how kidnappers were arrested on his first day

THE COMMISSIONER of Police, CP Olawale Olokode continued his familiarization tour of the Osun State Police Command with a visit to the Ibokun Police Command, where he recounted how on his first day in Osun he got two kidnapped victims released and arrested the kidnappers.
The CP, who pointed out that Ibokun stands out among the commands he has visited thanked the hunters for working hand in hand with the police.
CP Olokode stated that the reasons for the visit is three fold. ” Ftrstly to present myself before you as the new CP, secondly to thank you for the assistance you have been rendering to the police and to ask for more synergy between the communities and the police”.
He recounted his experience two days before he took over. There were skirmishes between Yoruba and Hausa. He went out for discussions with the people to ensure he takes over a peaceful State. He pointed out that his life has been one of being proactive. He gave an example of how he was able to stem car theft by going on patrol without being invited. Though his officers and men were always amazed asking him why he was doing this without being invited. He said this has always nip in the bud a lot bad things that would have occurred.

On day one on the job, he ensured that the two kidnapped people were not only released but the kidnappers were flushed out and arrested.
The Area Commander while welcoming the CP recounted his posting to Ibokun.
He pointed out that the area command is three years old, with four divisions. The area Commander, Adeyinka Akingbade recollected that as the first officer posted to the command he faced many challenges which he was happy to embrace as he loves challenges.
He pointed out that before his advent the command was faced with kidnaping issues but he was elated to note that the command is now one of the most peaceful.
He pleaded with the CP to look at the challenges the command had in terms of infrastructure.
The CP enjoined his officers and men to continue to be courteous to the community and ensure they remain good ambassadors. He thanked the community for their support and started that it must have been due to the efforts of the Area Commander and the DPOs and enjoined them to continue relating well with the community to be able to get credible information.
He disclosed that just yesterday they were out chasing a credible information they got. He said this has led to arrest of criminals and ammunition.

Earlier the CP paid a courtesy call to the Owa Obokun palace.
Hunters displayed and entertained the CP and the audience with ijala ode.

The CP train moved to Ilase Ijesa and Otan Ile palaces.

Police band was also on hands to entertain guests.
