Adeleke garners more support

SIX DAYS to the Governorship Election, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s Candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke has continued to garner more support that is stabilising his base and pointing him as the favourite to win the election.

Election period is notable for endorsements by groups, associations, opinion moulders and society leaders.

In his campaign trail, Adeleke has been able to secure largely the promise of votes from larger chunks of the society than he did in 2018.

Whereas there were skirmishes of shenanigans within the PDP then, this coming election would see a unified party willing to win the election.

Investigations by The Telescope Nigeria shows that despite all threats to workers, they are all hell bent on seeing a change of face in Bola Ige’s House come November 26, 2022.

The core leadership of labour are alleged to have sold out to the incumbent, which has necessitated their lieutenants to rally round generality of workers to ensure massive voting for Adeleke on Election Day.

Same goes for the pensioners. Those we spoke to have the perception that Adeleke would be better to answer their demands of timely monthly pension payment and offsetting of gratuities.

One of them told The Telescope Nigeria that “for over three years, what has he been able to do? It is trite to say Saturday would always depict how Sunday would fare.

“The meeting we had with incoming show that he understands our plight more than the current governor. He is more approachable than Oyetola”.

The icing on the cake was the sharp division the outburst of Kabiyesi Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun when Senator Adeleke visited him to ask for his royal blessings.

It was reported that APC louts led by Ashiri Eniba waylaid the campaign trail of PDP and an enraged Ataoja warned them and in fact told the gathering that “Oyetola was here, nobody disturb him, APC came they were well received, why would they go and disturb PDP from coming here. Let me tell you, it was PDP that installed me”.

Ataoja later placed curses on those who would like to disturb the peace of the town and a stern warning to Eniba that though he may be an Ataoja chief, he should watch his ways.

As if that was not enough, the Timi of Ede Oba Muniru who APC has worked on to ensure they got a good outing would have been shocked that after the endorsement, which one palace worker termed a general endorsement, the Timi has made his preference known.

We learnt that like he did in 2018, Timi called all the baales and bales and gave them a direct instruction that they should go to their homes and instruct their children and wards “to vote for Ademola Adeleke”.

Capping his campaign last week, Adeleke told listeners, “I Will form an inclusive government of unity”. This summarised the efforts and meetings and agreements reached. The workers, pensioners, other political parties, religious bodies, market women, students, etc have pledged to work with him and he is saying to them, “I will be a governor after your hearts”
