APC places hope on Supreme Court

THE ALL Progressives Congress, APC, members in Osun State have rekindle hope that their candidate, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola that lost woefully at the July 16, 2022 Governorship Election can still continue to rule if the Supreme Court answer the prayers of Dotun Babayemi who Friday filed an appeal to the Supreme Court after the Court of Appeal threw out his plea.

It could be recalled that Oyetola had said he and APC elders in the state were studying the situation and news later had it that 50 SANs would be engage to prosecute his case at the Election Petition Tribunal; at the time of going to press he was yet to file a case before the tribunal.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed report has it that there is an alliance between Oyetola and Babayemi to use the back door to wrestle the victory out of Ademola Adeleke the clear winner of the election.

Members of APC could be heard saying “We are still on course. Just wait and see who would be sworn in in November”.

One of them who simply call himself Sege in Orolu Local Government Area said, “Do you think we will just take it like that. Our leaders are working hard on it. Demola would not be sworn in. Mark my words”.

Many of the statements coming out of the leadership of the party also indicate something is in the offing. In a release by Kola Olabisi, Media Adviser to APC State Chairman, Famodun, in more than four instances in the short release, he used the expression, if it pleases the Lord to allow him get to power.

When contacted, one of the legal team of PDP who refused to give permission for his name to be printed said, “They are just lamenting. Who would not cry if he is defeated? The only thing they can do is to cry and nothing more.

“Any court they go to, we will meet them there and argue it based on points of law. Ignore their tantrums”.
