AS GOVERNORS who were elected during the 2019 general elections mark their one hundred days in office, the ancient clan of Elelenwo-Tor will on Saturday the 14th September roll out her traditional drums to celebrate  the Governor of Rivers state Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike in a civil reception.

The State Government in its listed events for the hundred days in office  will be inaugurating/commissioning of the Rumuokwurusi,  Elelenwo and Akpajo road.

In an interview with our correspondent, a prominent son of the soil and the Eze Udo I of Elelenwo, Sir Chief Mike Ejims Enwukwe who was a former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning under Dr Peter Odili as Governor of Rivers State, told The Telescope Nigeria that “the road which is popularly called old refinery road which was first constructed in 1955 as a Trunk A road by the then construction giants Docino Construction Company Limited was until 1976 the only road that led to the Ogoni and Okrika communities as well as the gate way to the neighboring Akwa Ibom State”.

However,  the former budget commissioner noted that some palliative reconstruction measures were carried out between 1999 and 2007, this he said was in addition to various minor intervention repairs on the traffic artery before 1999.

The Elelenwo born legal practitioner, Mike Ejims maintained that the joy of the community knows no bounds as the road which was a nightmare is now reconstructed and completed, today Elelenwo has a new landscape.

On his on part the paramount ruler of the community His Royal Highness Eze Sunny Weli Chukwu said: before 2015 economic and social life of Elelenwo was crippled as the  only gate way road to ancient clan in Oropotoma Kingdom was in a sorry state”.

Eze Sunny Weli said “Governor Wike have fullfiled his campaign promises to the people of Elelenwo,  he has proven his names again by  asking the construction giants in Nigeria, Julius Berger to undertake construction and dualization of this road” he is indeed a promise keeper.

The paramount ruler emphasized that Elelenwo-Etor “is blessed with both human and material resource, the former Chief Judge of the state, Honourable Justice Iche Ndu Eze Igho 1 of Elelenwo,  the former Budget Commissioner, Chief Barrister Mike Ejims Enwukwe Eze udo 1 Elelenwo,  and the current member representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency Hon. O.K Chinda Eze Iye Mgbam 1 of Elelenwo to mention but few. We still have more to lend to Nigeria and the World at large.  We will roll out our traditional drums to the high heavens in appreciation and celebration”.
